Sherrill is an award-winning designer of bead-embellished items, bead-woven tapestries, distinctive beaded jewelry and artwork, and cloth dolls. She has been beading since the 1980s, becoming a professional in 1994.
A Bead Elf (pattern proofing and model making) for Suzanne Cooper in Second Looks and Far Away Places; and Valerie Hixson in Blooming Beads, her work has also appeared in Fire Mountain Gems' catalogs (1999, 2000), Beadwork magazine, and The Crafts Report (July 2003).
Since 2003, when she began following the quilt show circuit, she has lectured and taught at quilt guilds in Oklahoma, Colorado, Kansas, Nebraska, Texas and Arkansas. She also teaches at the Multi Arts Center in Stillwater, OK and at her home-based studio.
She is a member of the Colorado Quilting Council; Oklahoma State Quilters Organization; Central Oklahoma Quilt Guild, Oklahoma City; Cimarron Valley Quilters Guild, Stillwater, OK; Edmond Quilters Guild, OK; Green Country Quilt Guild, Tulsa, OK; Tulsa Dolling Dames, OK; Stillwater Mineral and Gem Society, OK; Stillwater Writers' Group, OK; Oklahoma Writers' Federation, Inc.; and Friends of Multi Arts Center.
In 2010, she founded the Quintessential Crazy and Art Quilters' Gathering. A 3-day adventure with workshops taught by a variety of very talented teachers. The Gathering meets annually in Oklahoma City, OK.

For lectures, Sherrill speaks about two subjects dear to her heart:
* Beading, including fun facts and funnier folklore that has attended this fascinating medium from the time mankind put a hole in something and strung it for a necklace, all the way to the 21st Century. How to best apply these little jewels to your quilts and garments, including the Care and Feeding of them, what to avoid and what to pursue.
* Crazy Quilt! The epitome of embellishment: a magpie's paradise. 'No Rules' rule! Miscellaneous minutia gathered on her journey of crazy quilting includes tidbits from its Victorian birthplace, through the Depression, and into the 21st Century.
